CO2–extract of common nettle is a pasty brown (with green tint) liquid. The extract can be dissolved in alcohol or oils, but cannot in water. Extract of common nettle has polyvitaminic property, and contains vitamins С, K, В2, carotin, pantothenic acid, azulenes, coumarins, flavone and alkaloid-like substances, gum, phytosterol, and tannin.
Due to considerable quantity of vitamin K, and tannin extract of common nettle has styptic property. Trace elements (chrome, iron, copper, manganese, aluminium, vanadium) and polyvitamins contained into the extract make for increasing of hemoglobin and quantity of erythrocytes. Medicinal and makeup preparations based on extract of common nettle stimulate granulation and epithelization at soft tissue injuries, and affect as bactericidal remedy.
CO2–extract of common nettle have made a good showing itself in hair-care preparations; also can be used in medicine as a styptic.
